This chapter analyses the development of policies for the creative economy in the UK over the past ten years. In doing so it seeks to foreground the diversity of these policies across different parts of the UK, as well the contested nature of creative economy policies that are often seen from the outside as homogeneous. It thus challenges the notion that there is one ‘UK model’ that can be readily exported and applied in different national contexts.en_US
